Most of the time people upgrade their business cards yearly because information has either changed, a new graphic is available as well as most people like the idea of change. This holds true with your online business card as well which at the end of the day is your website. You should update your website for the following reasons:
1.) Appease the Search Engines. If you or your company has a website you will want to make sure to update it at least once a year if not more. The search engines like when websites update frequently with new content and images. Along with pleasing your visitors with a new look, its important to update your website for Google, Yahoo & Bing. If your website stays static these three search engines will not promote your website as much as those that often change.
2.) Use New Technology. A year is considered a long time in the technology industry. Think of all of the new products that have come out in the last twelve months. New Iphone apps, new phones, Ipads, etc. The way people use technology also changes quickly as well. People are now using cell phones & Ipads to look up information online which is a great reason to update your website often. With the changes in technology you should update your website often to accommodate searchers and the different technology you can feature on your website.
3.) Changes in your Business. Think of all that has changed in your business and its industry in the last twelve months! Does your clientele know or understand these changes? Chances are the answer is NO which is why you need to inform them on your website. Update your site with industry changes and regulations, any new organizations your company is apart of, any changes that may cause price increases or new parts.
